In Japan there is a famous saying: "Children grow up taking what their parents do as an example."
We might say that children grow up with a lot of information entering into their subconscious. It is said, for example, that if a parent uses violence when disciplining his child, the grandparent also used violence with that parent, and the great-grandparent had used violence with the grandparent in the same way. As a lot of things, good or wrong, enter the subconscious, they may come out at any moment. I have met a person who said, "My father never tells my mother to do this or that, but my mother does everything that she thinks is necessary, although she is very tired after working at her office. My mother loved her job, so she could work from 8 o'clock in the morning till 8 o'clock in the evening without taking any holidays. "As could be expected, their son also is a warm-hearted person who loves his job and is very attentive to the people surrounding him. He approaches everything with a positive attitude, meek and cheerful. It might be quite natural for him to try to live the same way as his parents, since he respects his parents. In Japan, juvenile delinquency is a big problem, nowadays. So the Ministry of Education has decided to start the "Education of Mind and Heart" program. However, an ideal picture of a human being depicted by the government may invite opposition from people. It may be wise to set up a forum on the Internet among people, government officials or citizens, young or old, to talk about how we should live. It would lead to the development of a more convincing, more universal picture of ideal human beings common to the whole of mankind. |
| If we could talk on the Internet with people from around the planet about the ideal human existence common to any country and any age, we might be able to make human relations conflicts in this world disappear. |
