Teachers are not substitutes for parents

Parents would fight against the entire world if necessary to defend their children, even if their children are in the wrong. This is just instinct or parental affection. For parents, affection for their children takes precedence over questions of right and wrong. And because of this affection parents make efforts to teach their children right from wrong. On the contrary, teachers focus primarily on their responsibility and duty as educators. Showing love to their students must be a secondary concern. Always reminding themselves of this principle, teachers do their best. The most important thing for teachers is not to love their students, but to teach them scholarly subjects. Therefore, logic and reason tend to prevail in teachersf attitudes and sometimes students canft help feeling their strictness and coldness when teachers try to approach students. But the firm disposition of teachers forces students to be serious and encourages them to make disciplined efforts in their schoolwork. It is said that teachers should always be serious and not expose all of themselves to students. Psychologically, this approach tends to make students curious to learn more about their teachers, helping them to advance further. The real work of teachers is to draw out the enthusiasm and independence of students and to help them to build character through their school activities. Teachers must earn the respect and trust of students. They need to be brilliant themselves and hold the attention of students. If this were not so, students would show no interest in their teachers. On the other hand, parents try to make their children become brilliant rather than trying to become brilliant themselves. For this reason they donft mind taking responsibility for what wrong their children have done. Without hesitation parents expose their weaknesses to their children. Maybe because of all this we always feel warm and secure when we are close to our parents. The question of what makes a good teacher has been debated throughout history. Yet, it is the education children get at home that really deserves the most serious consideration because the behavior of parents is critical in shaping the basic character of a child. It may be the parents who must be strong-minded now.

The personalities of present-day children are formed in the molds of their parents, so parents should grow up mentally and behave maturely and respectably.
